You’ll Need:
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 onion roughly chopped
1 pound ziti pasta, cooked a little shorter than Al Dente
2 1/2 cups Marinara sauce
1 medium tomato diced
Salt, black pepper and paprika to taste
1 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
2 eggs
1 15 oz tub ricotta cheese
approx 3 cups of shredded cheese of your choice
1. Cook the ground beef and pork until it’s almost done. Drain all of the fat reserving 1 tablespoon.
2. Add the onions, tomatoes and marina sauce, mix well and remove from heat.
3. In a bowl mix together 1/2 cup of shredded cheese, ricotta cheese and two eggs.
4. Add the cheese mixture to the pasta and mix together.
5. Mix in two cups of the meat sauce to the pasta. Pour into a 13x9 inch baking dish.
6. Cover the top with a thin layer of cheese, then cover with the remaining sauce.
7. Sprinkle the top with one more layer of cheese.
8. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes.
